He althy Indonesia Card (KIS) is a he alth program launched under President Jokowi's administration in 2014. This card is one of the National He alth Insurance (JKN) programs that aim to optimize the provision of he alth services for all Indonesians
He althy Indonesia Card is a he alth insurance card organized by the Social Security Administering Body (BPJS) for the underprivileged, namely Persons with Social Welfare Problems (PMKS) and babies born to BPJS He alth Contribution Assistance Recipients (PBI) who have not received a guarantee.
Not only providing he alth services, the He althy Indonesia Card also aims to enable participants to access information related to preventive measures and find out more about the importance of maintaining a he althy body, as well as early detection of disease for the PMKS community in he alth facilities.
The PMKS community referred to here is a group of people who are unable to support economic life independently so they cannot live properly. The following are some of the criteria for PMKS participants:
- Abandoned children or elderly
- Children or the elderly who are in an orphanage
- Children who are victims of violence living in orphanages or shelters
- Homeless, beggars and scavengers who don't have a permanent home
How to Make and Use a He althy Indonesia Card
The first step that needs to be taken to get the he alth insurance is to make a He althy Indonesia Card. There are several requirements needed to make a He althy Indonesia Card, including:
- A statement from the RT or RW and the local village office or lurah stating that PMKS is a resident of an orphanage, boarding school, or shelter, and does not have a foster family
- Identity Card (KTP)
- Family Card (KK)
Furthermore, if the He althy Indonesia Card has been verified and active, you can use it to check yourself at first-level he alth facilities, such as clinics, he alth centers, and hospitals.
However, if there are he alth problems that cannot be handled at that level of facility, you will be referred for treatment at an advanced he alth facility, such as a hospital with complete facilities or a clinic where specialist doctors practice.
The Difference between He althy Indonesia Card and BPJS He alth
Although at first glance it looks the same, there are a number of differences between the goals and the process of obtaining he alth insurance for the He althy Indonesia Card (KIS) and BPJS He alth. In terms of service targets, KIS is only intended for PMKS, while BPJS He alth is for all Indonesian people.
Registration and participation fees are different. KIS is free of charge because it is borne by the government, while BPJS He alth participants need to pay a monthly fee, the amount of which is determined based on class facilities. The class facilities consist of 3 classes, namely class 1, class 2, and class 3.
In addition to being able to be used to get he alth insurance, the He althy Indonesia Card can also be used by PMKS to receive social assistance (bansos) from the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in the amount of IDR 300,000.
However, it is important to remember that even though the government has provided the He althy Indonesia Card and BPJS He alth, as much as possible the public still needs to maintain their he alth by implementing clean and he althy living behaviors.
With the He althy Indonesia Card, it is hoped that there will be no more obstacles for every level of society to obtain he alth facility services, especially for the PMKS group. Therefore, use the benefits as much as possible to consult a doctor in an effort to detect any disease.
